The Linguistics department at Pitt offers a small selection of ESL courses for-credit. Although these courses prioritize availability for degree-seeking students, incoming exchange or guest students may be given permission to enroll at the discretion of the Linguistics department.  Interested students must take the English Language Proficiency Test in order to qualify for the appropriate course.  The courses are more readily available for incoming exchange or guest students during the spring term rather than the fall.  More details regarding eligibility and testing schedules maybe found on the Linguistic department's website.
