To be completely honest, Pittsburgh was only my fourth choice in the list of universities I applied to, but I am more than glad to have had the opportunity to discover the 446 bridges city. Pittsburgh was a complete stranger to me, a stranger that I was excited to meet for the first time, to discover its most exciting aspects, and soon enough, a stranger that would become family and home.
I have had the opportunity to spend two full semesters in Pittsburgh, to experience for the first time, the changing colors of autumn as well as the real meaning of a true winter. Pittsburgh is a real good choice if you want to grasp the American culture: you will definitely have the occasion to talk with people, who I found very sociable and kind. If you’re a fan of sports, and you want to get to know the most typical American sports, Pittsburgh is for you: football with the steelers team, hockey with the penguins, baseball with the pirates, and of course, the University football team, the Panthers which you will definitely hear about.
At the University of Pittsburgh, I experienced an enjoyable academic and human experience. I had a lot of fun with the exchange students and travelled across the US, as well as with locals who were truly welcoming. I enjoyed my classes, especially my Spanish class which was way more interactive than in France.
I am grateful for this opportunity, and I will always keep good memories of my time at Pitt.
